Connect OpenRouter

OpenRouter is an AI inference gateway that routes requests to hundreds of models across many upstream providers through a single API. The OpenRouter integration imports your daily billed cost and token usage into DoiT Cloud Intelligence so you can analyze OpenRouter spend by model and by hosting provider in Cloud Analytics.

Prerequisites

• An OpenRouter organization.

• A DoiT account with the Billing Profiles Admin permission.

Required credentials

Management key required

Regular OpenRouter inference API keys will not work — they cannot read the analytics endpoints DoiT uses. Create a dedicated management key for the integration; your existing inference keys are unaffected and stay where they are.

Create a management key

1. Sign in to the OpenRouter dashboard.

2. Navigate to Settings > Management Keys.

3. Create a new management key and give it a descriptive name.

4. Copy the key.

   The key is only shown once. Make sure to copy it before closing the dialog.

Connect your OpenRouter organization

1. Sign in to Cloud Intelligence, select Data ingestion and integrations > Integrations from the top navigation mega menu.

2. Search for OpenRouter in the integrations catalog.

3. Select Connect + on the integration card.

4. Enter an Organization name and your Management key.

5. Select Test connection to verify DoiT can access your OpenRouter organization. The test also confirms the key is a management key — an inference key fails here.

6. If the test is successful, select Save to complete the setup.

Upon initial connection, DoiT imports up to 180 days of historical OpenRouter cost data. The import process can take a few hours. You'll receive an email when the data is available in Cloud Analytics.

What the imported cost means

OpenRouter bills your organization by drawing down prepaid credits. The Cost DoiT imports is exactly that: the credits your organization spent, at the provider list price OpenRouter charges.

If you bring your own provider keys (BYOK), the upstream provider bills you directly and OpenRouter only estimates that external spend. That estimate is not included in Cost — it would double-count spend that may already reach DoiT through your cloud provider's own billing feed. The estimate is available separately as an extended metric, and BYOK fees charged by OpenRouter are part of your credits spend.

Data refresh

DoiT refreshes your OpenRouter billing data every six hours. OpenRouter reports costs at daily granularity in UTC; a day's data is imported once the day has completed.

Reporting dimensions

Once connected, OpenRouter data maps to the following standard Cloud Analytics dimensions:

In addition to standard dimensions, the following OpenRouter-specific labels are available:

Provider	The upstream provider that served the request (e.g., OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, DeepInfra)
BYOK	Whether the charge involved a bring-your-own-key request (true or false)
Organization	The OpenRouter organization the charge belongs to

Usage amounts are measured in tokens (prompt plus completion).

Model names follow OpenRouter's canonical model identifiers, which may include a version suffix (for example, a request routed to anthropic/claude-haiku-4.5 is reported as anthropic/claude-4.5-haiku-20251001).

OpenRouter costs appear in the GenAI Intelligence dashboard alongside other supported GenAI providers.

Delete your OpenRouter connection

1. Sign in to Cloud Intelligence, select Data ingestion and integrations > Integrations from the top navigation mega menu.

2. Search for OpenRouter in the integrations catalog.

3. Select Manage on the integration card.

4. Select the kebab menu (⋮) at the rightmost end of the organization you want to remove and select Delete.

5. Select Delete to confirm.
