Connect Grafana Cloud

Grafana Cloud is a fully managed observability platform for metrics, logs, and traces, built on Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki. The Grafana Cloud integration imports your billing and usage data into DoiT Cloud Intelligence so you can analyze Grafana costs in Cloud Analytics.

Prerequisites

• A Grafana Cloud account with admin access.
• A DoiT account with the Billing Profiles Admin permission.

Required credentials

Organization Slug	Your Grafana org slug from the URL (e.g. my-org from https://grafana.com/orgs/my-org)	Grafana.com → your organization URL

Create an access policy token

1. Sign in to grafana.com.

2. Navigate to your organization → Access Policies.

3. Create a new access policy with the following scopes:

   • billing-metrics:read
   • orgs:read

4. Attach a token to the access policy and copy it.

   Caution

   The token is only shown once. Make sure to copy it before closing the dialog.

Connect your Grafana Cloud account

1. Sign in to DoiT Cloud Intelligence, navigate to Data ingestion and integrations → Assets.

2. Select Grafana Cloud from the left-hand menu, and then select Connect new account.

3. Enter your Organization Slug and Access Policy Token.

4. Select Test connection to verify DoiT can access your Grafana billing data.

5. If the test is successful, select Save to complete the setup.

   If the test fails or you need further assistance, please open an expert inquiry.

Note

Upon initial connection, DoiT ingests your historical billing data. The import process can take a few hours. You'll receive an email when the data is available in Cloud Analytics.

Data refresh

DoiT refreshes your Grafana Cloud data daily. Data typically becomes available within 48 hours of being generated by Grafana.

Reporting dimensions

Once connected, Grafana Cloud data maps to the following standard Cloud Analytics dimensions:

In addition to standard dimensions, the following Grafana-specific labels are available:

Account ID	The Grafana stack slug
Service	Grafana service (metrics, logs, traces, etc.)
Category	Usage category within the service
Organization	The Grafana organization slug

Delete your Grafana Cloud connection

1. Sign in to DoiT Cloud Intelligence, navigate to Data ingestion and integrations → Assets.

2. Select Grafana Cloud from the left-hand menu.

3. Select the three dots menu (⋮) at the rightmost end of the account you want to remove and select Delete.

4. Select Delete to confirm.
