Create Azure diagrams

This page describes how to create a diagram for your Azure environment in the DoiT console.

Required permissions

To create Cloud Diagrams, your DoiT account must have the Cloud Diagram User permission.

Caution

Your Azure tenant must be connected in the DoiT console with the Cloud Diagrams feature enabled so DoiT can read subscription resources. If you have not connected a tenant yet, or you need to add this feature, follow Connect Azure Tenants.

Import an Azure subscription

Cloud Diagrams creates one diagram per Azure subscription you import.

To import a subscription:

  1. Sign in to the DoiT console, select Automation and operations from the top navigation mega menu, and then select Cloud Diagrams.

  2. If this is your first diagram, select Create first diagram, otherwise select Create diagram.

  3. Choose Azure and select Next.

  4. The console lists Azure subscriptions grouped by tenant. Use the filter field if you need to narrow the list by subscription ID or name.

  5. Select the subscription you want to diagram. Only subscriptions that are ready for Cloud Diagrams can be selected. If you do not see any subscriptions, or the subscription you need is not selectable, select View Azure connect and Connect your Azure Tenants, including enabling Cloud Diagrams and assigning Reader access for your management group.

  6. Select Import. When the diagram is created, you are redirected to the Cloud Diagrams dashboard.
