PerfectScale for Commitments
DoiT's PerfectScale for Commitments introduces a commitment management feature designed to help you evaluate your current commitments, plan new commitments, automate the commitment purchasing process, and optimize cloud costs.
Core featuresβ
PerfectScale for Commitments provides a complete suite of tools to manage the entire commitment lifecycle:
-
Unified visibility: View all your existing commitments and their associated savings across all accounts in one place.
-
Intelligent recommendations: Generate optimal Savings Plans purchase recommendations based on your specific risk tolerance, existing commitments, term preferences, and payment options.
-
Risk-aware automation (opt-in): Automatically purchase Savings Plans using "laddering", buying smaller commitments over time to reduce risk and adapt to usage changes. Purchases are typically scheduled within the first 20 days of the month, giving you a window to review and cancel before execution.
-
Simulation and forecasting: Simulate the impact of new Savings Plans against your historical usage to predict savings.
-
Validation: Verify recommendations against AWS native recommendations and manual checks to ensure accuracy before purchasing.
-
Continuous optimization: The system continuously reassesses your environment, ensuring your coverage adapts as your infrastructure evolves.

Supported Savings Plan types and scopeβ
PerfectScale for Commitments gives you visibility into all existing commitment types. For AWS, this includes Spot Instances, Reserved Instances (RI), customer-purchased Savings Plans (SP), and Flexsave for Compute Savings Plans.
The recommendations algorithm targets Compute and Database Savings Plans, taking into account your existing customer-purchased and Flexsave-for-Compute Savings Plans. EC2 Instances and SageMaker Savings plans, Reserved Instances and Spot Instances are excluded from recommendations.

FAQβ
How does it differ from Flexsave?β
PerfectScale for Commitments is the successor to Flexsave for Compute. While Flexsave provided automated management, PerfectScale introduces advanced strategies like commitment laddering, together with granular control over risk and commitment levels, and deeper visibility into your Effective Savings Rate (ESR).
Unlike Flexsave, where DoiT applies Savings Plans from its own inventory and bears the risk of unused commitment, PerfectScale purchases Savings Plans directly into your AWS account β but only after you grant write permissions and explicitly approve the purchase plan.
