Connect your Datadog account

Required permissions

To integrate Datadog with the console, you must provide DoiT with read access to your Datadog billing and usage data.

Note

You cannot connect your Datadog account with DoiT if:

  • You purchased Datadog from a reseller.

  • You purchased Datadog from a Marketplace, for example, AWS or Google Cloud Marketplace.

  • You belong to a child organization in a multi-org account, unless you have the Datadog Admin role in the parent organization.

Connection wizard

The console provides a step-by-step wizard to connect Datadog accounts. To connect multiple Datadog accounts, complete the setup wizard for each one.

To launch the wizard:

  1. Select Data ingestion and integrations > Integrations from the top navigation mega menu.

  2. Find the Datadog integration card:

    • Select Connect +, if you're adding your first account.

    • Select Manage and then select Connect new account, if you're setting up an additional one.

By the end of the wizard, you must have provided:

  1. A custom role for DoiT with the appropriate permissions.

  2. A service account that provides a secure identity for the DoiT integration.

  3. An application key to authenticate the DoiT service account with Datadog.

  4. An API key that enables DoiT to query your Datadog data.

  5. Your organization region.

  6. (Optional) Your Datadog commitment and pricing details.

Note

Upon initial connection, DoiT ingests the last 6 months of historical billing and usage data for each added warehouse.
