DoiT recipe library
Composer ships with a DoiT-maintained library of over 260 published recipes covering AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes resources. These recipes encode common misconfigurations, waste patterns, and best-practice checks identified by DoiT experts, and they power the proprietary Insights you see out of the box — no setup beyond enabling Composer is required.
Each DoiT-provided recipe carries the same metadata as your own recipes: the cloud provider and resource types it evaluates, one or more pillars (Cost, Operations, Performance, Security), optional compliance standards, and, for Cost recipes, a cost function such as resource deletion, extended support, or resource rightsizing.
Browse the library
The library is maintained in the product, so the console always reflects the current set of recipes:
-
Sign in to the DoiT console and select Automation and operations > Composer from the top navigation mega menu.
-
The Composer dashboard lists all recipes available to you, DoiT-provided and your own. Filter by properties such as provider, pillar, severity, or status to see the subset you care about — for example, all published Cost recipes for AWS.
-
Select a recipe name to view its details, including the query it evaluates and any remediation guidance.
Customize a DoiT-provided recipe
You can view DoiT-provided recipes but not overwrite them. To adapt one to your organization's needs, open it and select Duplicate recipe from the kebab menu (⋮), then customize and publish your copy. See Edit, duplicate, and clear.
