Monitor cost anomalies

You can enable anomaly detection for a group of resources defined by a custom single-rule allocation directly from the Allocations screen.

Note

Anomaly detection for custom allocations supports only billing data, not real-time usage data.

Required permissions

  • Cloud Analytics User, Allocations Admin

Enable monitoring

To enable monitoring for cost anomalies:

  1. Navigate to the main Allocations screen.

  2. Locate the single-rule allocation of interest.

  3. Select the three dots menu () at the rightmost end of the allocation entry.

  4. Select Anomaly detection.

  5. Use the toggle button to enable or disable the monitor for cost anomalies.

Once enabled, the DoiT anomaly detection system will start monitoring billing data of the group defined by the allocation rule. For example, if your allocation rule is filtered to one or more SKUs, you will be alerted to anomalies that occur only in that set of objects.
