Metrics
Metrics are quantifiable measures used for tracking and evaluating cloud usage, costs, and performance. In Cloud Analytics, metrics are analyzed alongside dimensions, tags, and labels.
This page is about the metrics of cloud billing data. For BigQuery audit log data, see Analyze BigQuery activities using audit data: Metrics and dimensions.
Cloud Analytics supports two categories of metrics: predefined and user defined.
Predefined metrics
-
Basic metrics: There are three basic metrics: Cost, Usage, and Savings. They are used to measure the fundamental aspects of cloud resource consumption.
-
Extended metrics: Extended metrics measure data provider-specific attributes that go beyond basic metrics to provide deeper insights.
-
Preset custom metrics: Preset custom metrics are mostly found in preset reports that measure specific indicators and operational data.
Basic metrics and extended metrics are available in all DoiT Cloud Intelligence plans. Preset custom metrics are available if you have an Enhanced or Enterprise plan.
User-defined metrics
There are two types of user-defined metrics:
-
DataHub metrics: DataHub metrics are custom metrics imported via the DoiT DataHub.
-
User-defined custom metrics: These are tailored metrics created by users using attributions. See Create custom metrics.
DataHub metrics and user-defined custom metrics are available if you have a DoiT Cloud Intelligence Enhanced or Enterprise plan.
