AWS Billing Transfer

AWS Billing Transfer is a billing model that simplifies billing operations for AWS partners by consolidating AWS bills into a single management account. It changes the billing relationship without touching AWS account ownership. This centralized approach streamlines cost visibility and reporting, reducing administrative overhead while improving financial oversight.

DoiT PartnerOps Revenue Management supports the billing transfer hierarchy, with AWS managing the relationship via Organizations handshakes.

Prerequisites

• An active or pending Billing Transfer relationship must be configured in AWS (via the AWS Console or APN). See AWS Billing User Guide: Billing transfer for guidance.

• The reseller and end customer tenants must already exist in the DoiT Console. See Onboard resellers and Onboard end customers for how to add a customer.

Billing transfer works with both CUR 2.0 (recommended) and legacy CUR.

Glossary

• DPMA (Distributor Program Management Account): A distributor management account that manages and pays for the consolidated bill of reseller and end customer management accounts.

• EC (End Customer): An end customer in the three-tier hierarchical model of DoiT PartnerOps.

• PMA (Program Management Accounts): A management account designated to manage and pay for the consolidated bill of another management account, known as Bill-Transfer Account in AWS Billing Transfer terminology.

• RPMA (Reseller Program Management Account): A reseller management account that manages and pays for the consolidated bill of end customer management accounts.
