Insight sources

Insights generated from sources other than the DoiT Composer feature are regarded as third-party insights.

AWS Cost Optimization Hub: Allows you to identify, filter, and consolidate AWS cost optimization recommendations. DoiT platform interacts with AWS Cost Optimization Hub API.
AWS Trusted Advisor: Helps you optimize costs, increase performance, improve security and resilience, and operate at scale. DoiT platform interacts with AWS Trusted Advisor API to access Trusted Advisor checks.
AWS Security Hub: Helps you assess your AWS environment against security industry standards and best practices. DoiT platform interacts with AWS Security Hub API to access findings from AWS Security Hub CSPM controls.
Google Cloud Recommender: Provides usage recommendations for Google Cloud resources. DoiT platform queries the Google Cloud Recommender API at the billing account level for recommendations on resource-based committed use discounts, and relies on Google Cloud Recommender BigQuery export for others.
Azure Advisor: Helps you improve the cost effectiveness, performance, reliability, and security of your Azure resources. DoiT platform interacts with Azure Advisor REST API.

Wiz: Helps you identify security issues across your cloud environment, reduce risks, and protect your assets.

Insights generated by DoiT using the following data sources:

Cloud billing data ingested into the DoiT platform: Insights generated using cloud billing data are typically based on cost and usage data collected over seven or more consecutive days, with the last day being three days prior to the current day to mitigate potential data latency issues. Such insights are refreshed daily.
BigQuery audit logs: Generates recommendations on BigQuery usage. As BigQuery's usage profile generally does not change as frequently as billing data, BigQuery Intelligence insights are refreshed weekly to minimize query costs while allowing pertinent recommendations.

Insights created by the DoiT expert team or by your own team using the DoiT Insights API.

FinOps: FinOps is a critical aspect of cloud operations. This category focuses on identifying cost optimization opportunities and helping organizations manage cloud costs.
Operational excellence: This category offers guidance on automation, monitoring, and governance to improve the operational health of cloud workloads and streamline processes and workflow.
Performance efficiency: This category focuses on efficiently using IT and computing resources and improving the speed and responsiveness of business-critical applications.
Security: This category focuses on identifying security risks and recommending mitigation measures. It offers guidance on access control, encryption, identity management, and compliance with security standards.
Reliability: This category focuses on enhancing system availability and fault tolerance, providing insights on workload distribution, load balancing, and resilient architectures.
Sustainability: This category promotes energy-efficient and sustainable resource usage to reduce waste and carbon footprint. It helps organizations run their workloads with energy efficiency.
