Connect ChatGPT

The steps below demonstrate how to connect to the DoiT MCP server using ChatGPT.

Required permissions

• To connect and access DoiT Cloud Intelligence via the MCP server, your user must be assigned the Billing Profiles Admin permission.

• The DoiT MCP server tools map to the DoiT Cloud Intelligence API. Your DoiT API key authenticates requests. In addition, each DoiT API operation enforces its own permissions.

Prerequisites

• A DoiT API key ready to paste when the connector prompts for authorization.

• You must enable ChatGPT developer mode.

• A supported web browser to sign in to ChatGPT and create the connector.

Connection type

ChatGPT connects to DoiT MCP over remote SSE (HTTPS). You must enter the DoiT MCP server URL (https://mcp.doit.com/sse) when you set up the connection with ChatGPT. ChatGPT connects to DoiT MCP server via a hosted remote DoiT MCP endpoint.

Configure the DoiT MCP server

Use a connector to link ChatGPT to the DoiT MCP server.

1. Open a web browser and type https://chat.com and press Enter.

2. Select Log in. Enter your log in details and select Continue.

3. Once you are logged in, select your name and then select Settings.

4. Select Apps & Connectors and then select Create. The New Connector window is displayed.

5. In Name, type a name that fits the usage, for example, DoiT MCP server.

6. (Optional) In Description, enter a description for the connection.

7. In MCP Server URL, enter https://mcp.doit.com/sse.

8. In Auth, select OAuth from the list.

9. To accept ChatGPT's terms of service, select the I understand and want to continue checkbox and select Create. The Authorization Request window is displayed.

10. Enter your DoiT API key and select Approve.

11. When the DoiT MCP server is successfully connected, ChatGPT automatically detects and connects to the DoiT MCP server. You can now open a new chat to start asking questions or make requests related to DoiT Cloud Intelligence data.
