delete-folder

dci delete-folder <id>

Deletes the specified folder. All nested folders will be deleted. Any reports or allocations contained in the folder are moved to the root.

  • id — Folder ID as shown by dci list-folders. Interactive terminals ask for confirmation before deleting.
Nested folders go too

Deleting a folder deletes every folder nested inside it. The reports and allocations they contained are not deleted; they move to the top level.

Examples

# Delete a folder (a confirm dialog shows the target; Cancel is the default).
dci delete-folder <folder-id>
# Preview locally what would be deleted, without sending a request.
dci delete-folder <folder-id> --dry-run
# Delete without a prompt, for scripts and CI (exit code 30 if confirmation is missing).
dci delete-folder <folder-id> --yes

Output

On success, this command produces no response data.

Errors

On failure, dci prints a single error message — with a hint when one is available — and exits with a typed code your scripts can branch on. See Errors and exit codes for the full contract.
